Adam “Roothlus” Levy

People wanting to download free poker will be considering UB, so it would be good to meet another UB advocate in Adam Levy. You might better recognize him as “Roothlus” since that is the username he chose to use on US friendly poker sites. The 28 year old professional was born in New York but he has since moved away and now lives in Florida. Before he became a professional poker player, he was a student and used to wait tables.

Levy’s cashes on the best online poker sites surpass the $3 million mark. An extraordinary thing to know regarding Levy’s online scores is that the most he has ever won in a single tournament is $387.5k, yet his cashes still total to well over $3 million. This fact points to one thing: his success has not been due to luck and he is a consistent winning player. His $387,500 score was obtained by placing 2nd in an FTOPS event on his Full Tilt Poker download back in 2009. His second largest cash is scaled back a bit to $80k, and this was also won on Full Tilt. His most impressive PokerStars score was a few years ago when he finished 3rd in the Sunday Million for $56,990.

This UB pro has some live cashes in US poker rooms to be proud of, as well. He actually just won his largest cash ever in the 2010 WSOP Main Event after finishing just outside the final table in 12th place. Missing the November Nine was very disappointing, but he must have been pleased to add an extra $635k to his bank account. Prior to that, his largest prize in a live tournament was for $266,445 in 2008.

Levy has his day mapped out perfectly when he plays online poker. He usually gets out of bed a couple hours before playing on money poker sites because going to his computer first thing after waking up isn’t his style. He prefers to have a good breakfast and a shower first thing. He likes to listen to music while he plays although you might be surprised to learn his genre of preference: techno. After his day of playing on the best US poker sites is over, he jumps onto his XBOX and plays FIFA. Rigid schedules work well for some people and it would appear Levy is one of these people.

If you would like the chance to sit at the table with Levy one day, there is no substitute for playing tons of hands and studying. There is plenty of free poker training online so even the most inexperienced player should make progress fairly quickly.
